Job summary

SEHA - Abu Dhabi Health Services Co. is seeking a Consultant Physician to provide senior-level medical care within their designated specialty in Abu Dhabi. The role emphasizes clinical governance, training of junior staff, and active participation in quality improvement initiatives.

The consultant will oversee inpatient and outpatient services, participate in on-call rotations, and ensure strict adherence to Department of Health regulations and SEHA hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Education: MBBS or equivalent, plus structured specialty training.
• Postgraduate qualification such as MD, MS, or DNB is generally required.
• Licensing: DOH Abu Dhabi license eligibility is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care.
• Examine patients, take histories, order tests, prescribe therapies, and develop treatment plans.
• Oversee junior medical staff and supervise training and supervision.
• Liaise with other specialties and participate in multidisciplinary meetings.
• Provide on-call coverage on a rotational basis.
• Document clinical information accurately and comply with DOH and hospital policies.
• Participate in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives.
• Communicate with patients and families and obtain informed consent.
