Job summary

EDGE POWERTECH in Abu Dhabi seeks a Structural Analysis Engineer to lead stress, vibration, and life assessment of gas turbine components within turbojet and turbofan programs. You will apply thermo-mechanical simulations, creep, fatigue, and FMECA while mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure safety, operability and project success.

POWERTECH is a center of excellence for propulsion technologies, specializing in the design, engineering, and manufacturing of combustion engines, expendable turbojet engines, and turbofan engines for a wide range of aerospace, defence, and autonomous applications, including fixed- and rotary-wing UAVs and other advanced platforms.

Position Summary

Structural Analysis Engineer will be responsible for the stress & vibration analysis of the gas turbine components including compressors, turbines, shafts, bearing systems, and stationary structures within the turbojet and turbofan development programs. This role requires expert knowledge in mechanical design, integrity, gas turbine propulsion, planning for projects and ability to develop individuals.

Basic Qualifications

• Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering degree or a related field.
• Strong background in gas turbine propulsion, mechanical design, integrity and heat transfer.
• Experience in whole engine structural analysis, clearance assessments is a plus.
• Experience in bearing performance assessment is a plus.
• Fluent in English
• 5-15 years or more for senior roles

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical skills in one or a combination of stated topics.
• Proficient in one of design packages such as Solidworks, Siemens NX or similar.
• Experience in FEA, or lower order simulation methods.
• Experience in programming using C, Matlab/Simulink or similar.
• Awareness on the state-of-the-art technologies in materials, aerodynamics, and structural mechanics to link with structural analysis for gas turbine propulsion
