Job summary

Archirodon, a leading global EPC contractor, seeks a Mechanical QC Engineer to join its Quality Controls team in the Oil, Gas and Chemicals division. You will prepare quality docs, monitor mechanical works from design through handover, and coordinate with 3rd party testing while ensuring calibration of instruments.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in Mechanical/Metallurgical Engineering with 8+ years in construction, ADNOC experience preferred, and certifications such as ASNT II and CSWIP

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering
• Strong experience in Construction phase projects is required
• Minimum 8 years of experience (ADNOC experience is a plus)
• ASNT Level II in RT, UT, MT, and PT
• CSWIP 3.1 or AWS-CWI certification
• Hands-on experience in welding, NDT, painting/coating
• Good command of project quality auditing practices

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing quality documents including ITPs and review construction docs for mechanical works.
• Monitor all phases for completion of mechanical works (design, procurement, construction, handover).
• Oversee Method Statements, ITPs for mechanical works and ensure records are generated.
• Manage inspection and testing of mechanical works and supervise QC inspectors.
• Monitor closeout of punch lists related to mechanical works.
• Ensure measurement & testing instruments are functional and calibrated.
• Witness and approve welder qualifications and WPS/PQRs.
• Coordinate with 3rd party testing/inspection for mechanical works.
• Perform statistical analysis and evaluate test data for mechanical works.
• Maintain test/inspection records and related quality records.
• Assist construction personnel to identify and resolve non-conformances.
• Inform QC Manager of non-conformances and raise NCRs when needed.
• Assist in periodic audits of subcontractors/suppliers for technical compliance.
• Witness all NDT and mechanical tests (e.g. hydro/pneumatic) as required.
• Attend client verification of work on site and close out issues on civil works.
• Assist in final certification documentation and systems commissioning.
• Hands-on in site interface management with QC personnel, client QC, and contractors.
