About the Role: We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for MEP site supervision of a major hospitality construction project in Dubai. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising, coordinating, and ensuring full compliance of all mechanical systems with Dubai Municipality (DM), Dubai Civil Defence (DCD), project specifications, and applicable international standards. The role requires strong experience in hospitality developments, with particular emphasis on central domestic hot water (DHW) systems, authority approvals, inspections, and testing & commissioning requirements.

Responsibilities
- Supervise all mechanical works on site in accordance with: Approved Dubai Municipality drawings; Dubai Civil Defence approved fire and life safety requirements; Project specifications, authority conditions, and approved shop drawings.
- Ensure full compliance with DM Plumbing Code, DM Green Building Regulations, DCD Fire & Life Safety Code, and relevant BS / ASHRAE / NFPA standards.
- Oversee execution of: Central Domestic Hot Water (DHW) generation, storage, circulation, and redundancy systems; HVAC chilled water and ventilation systems; Plumbing, drainage, and water supply systems; Pumps, calorifiers, heat exchangers, expansion vessels, and associated controls.
- Verify that project-specific hot water requirements (temperature control, circulation loops, standby capacity, hygiene and Legionella prevention measures) are implemented in line with DM and project requirements.
- Review and technically assess shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, ITPs, and commissioning procedures submission.
- Coordinate and attend Dubai Municipality and DCD inspections, addressing comments and ensuring timely compliance.
- Ensure that fire-related mechanical systems (smoke management, stair pressurization, smoke exhaust, kitchen exhaust systems) are executed strictly in accordance with DCD approvals.
- Witness testing, commissioning, flushing, pressure testing, balancing, and functional testing of mechanical systems and verify compliance prior to authority sign-off.
- Identify non-conformances, issue NCRs, and ensure corrective actions are implemented without impact to authority approvals or project handover.
- Coordinate closely with Electrical, ELV, Architectural, Interior Design, and Structural teams to ensure clash-free and compliant execution.
- Monitor contractor performance, progress, and quality in line with approved construction programs.
- Prepare technical supervision reports, site observations, and authority compliance documentation.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in MEP supervision of construction projects in the UAE.
- At least 2 successfully completed hospitality projects (hotel / serviced apartment / resort) involving central domestic hot water systems.
- Proven experience working with a Consultancy managing multiple MEP subcontractors.
- Strong background in site supervision and execution compliance; Strong background in hospitality, mixed-use, or high-rise projects in Dubai.
- Thorough understanding of UAE authority regulations, construction practices, and inspection protocols.
- Experience on the consultant or PMC side is highly preferred.
- Solid understanding of MEP execution, site logistics, authority processes, and construction sequencing.
- Skills & Competencies: Strong site leadership and MEP contractor management skills; Excellent coordination and authority-interface capability; Strong technical judgment and problem-solving skills; Clear written and verbal communication skills; Ability to manage complex interfaces and resolve technical conflicts; Familiarity with FIDIC-based contracts and consultant supervision roles.
