Mira Construction LLC is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to take full responsibility for managing the mechanical portion of a construction project from start to finish. The successful candidate will lead projects, provide technical expertise, and mentor junior engineers to ensure the successful execution of engineering projects.
The work-format: on-site (Project Office, Construction Site).
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of mechanical systems and components, from concept to final product implementation.
- Conduct engineering analysis, calculations, and simulations to ensure the integrity and performance of mechanical designs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software engineers, and project managers, to integrate mechanical systems with overall product designs.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, assisting with problem-solving and professional development.
- Perform hands‑on testing and validation of mechanical designs, including prototype fabrication and testing.
- Stay current with industry trends, standards, and best practices in mechanical engineering, and apply them to project designs and processes.
- Collaborate with external vendors and suppliers to source components and materials for mechanical systems.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards for mechanical designs and products.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on product design and development.
- Proficiency in CAD software and Revit (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and finite element analysis tools.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to design and optimize mechanical systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to lead projects and mentor junior engineers.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to mechanical engineering, such as ASME, ANSI, and ISO.
- Experience with design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles.
- Familiarity with product lifecycle management (PLM) software and processes.
- Professional engineering (PE) license is a plus.
