Qualifications

• Degree or Higher National qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
• Membership, or working towards membership, of a recognised professional institution such as CIBSE.
• Experience delivering mechanical building services designs within an MEP consulting environment.

Responsibilities

• Producing mechanical engineering designs, specifications, drawings, and technical documentation.
• Ensuring designs comply with relevant codes, regulations, standards, and project requirements.
• Supporting the successful delivery of projects through technical coordination and collaboration.
• Engaging with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders throughout the design process.
• Providing technical input for project budgets and design proposals.
• Identifying project risks, scope changes, and opportunities to improve delivery.
• Contributing to business growth by supporting existing client relationships and identifying new opportunities.
• Supporting effective project planning, programme management, and cost control activities.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Principal Engineer, you will play a key role in the delivery of mechanical building services designs across a range of projects. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to develop high-quality technical solutions, ensuring designs meet client expectations, project objectives, and industry regulations.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Producing mechanical engineering designs, specifications, drawings, and technical documentation.
• Ensuring designs comply with relevant codes, regulations, standards, and project requirements.
• Supporting the successful delivery of projects through technical coordination and collaboration.
• Engaging with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders throughout the design process.
• Providing technical input for project budgets and design proposals.
• Identifying project risks, scope changes, and opportunities to improve delivery.
• Contributing to business growth by supporting existing client relationships and identifying new opportunities.
• Supporting effective project planning, programme management, and cost control activities.

Qualifications

• Degree or Higher National qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Membership, or working towards membership, of a recognised professional institution such as CIBSE.

Experience & Technical Capability

• Experience delivering mechanical building services designs within an MEP consulting environment.
• Exposure to a variety of building sectors and project types.
• Strong understanding of relevant design codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience using industry-standard design software such as AutoCAD, Cymap, Hevacomp, IES, or similar tools.
• Knowledge of HVAC, ventilation, cooling, domestic water services, drainage, and associated building services systems.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with clients and project teams.
• Experience working within multidisciplinary delivery environments.
