Job summary

AECOM in the United Arab Emirates is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to lead discipline-specific design across multiple projects, ensuring technical excellence and sustainable outcomes.

You will mentor junior engineers, review calculations, and coordinate with architectural and structural teams. Proficiency in REVIT/AutoCAD and BIM tools is required; experience in residential, retail or hospitality sectors is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Masters preferred.
• 6 years of experience in mechanical design engineering.
• Proficiency in REVIT, AutoCAD or BIM tools.
• Experience in Residential, Retail or Hospitality projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the discipline-specific design process with a focus on technical excellence.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
• Review and approve calculations, drawings and reports for QA and compliance.
• Oversee integration of mechanical designs with architectural and structural elements.
• Develop project strategies aligned with client objectives and sustainability.
• Lead client and stakeholder discussions addressing design challenges.
• Advance BIM modelling and digital delivery using Revit, Revizto, ACC and BIM 360.
• Monitor budgets timelines and deliverables; manage project risks.
• Drive programming opportunities for design automation and data analysis.
