Job summary

Al Ghurair is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager in Dubai to lead strategic sourcing, supplier relations, and contract governance.

You'll align category strategies with business objectives, drive cost savings through value engineering, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards while managing vendor performance and risk. This full-time role requires 15 years of experience and a Bachelor’s degree, with exposure to ERP systems and spend analysis.

Qualifications

• 15 years of experience in Procurement, Contract and Category management.
• Experience with vendor risk management and SLA/KPI practice.
• Strong negotiation and strategic sourcing skills.
• Ability to manage OEM components and base-build vendors.

Responsibilities

• Align procurement strategies with corporate business objectives and client-specific standards.
• Formulate and execute category strategies, aligned with regulatory requirements.
• Establish long-term agreements, bulk procurement orders, or blanket contracts with vendors.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies, especially for high-value or volatile commodities.
• Monitor industry trends, technological advancements, and potential new suppliers to improve service quality and optimize cost risks.
• Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans to optimize costs.
• Facilitate high-level strategic discussions with key suppliers and internal stakeholders to drive collaboration and improve performance outcomes.
• Update and approve standard operating procedures (SOPs) as needed, ensuring alignment with management directives.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives to ensure category strategies are integrated with wider organizational goals.
• Delegate procurement requests (PR/RF) to team members.
• Ensure timely processing of procurement requests and release of direct system PR in line with agreed SLAs. Review and approval of orders, Process of Contract agreements for high value package items
• Ensure supplier selection through comprehensive negotiations and efficient reverse auctions (E-bid)
• Oversee end-to-end procurement ensuring timely sourcing and specification compliance.
• Manage vendor contracts and renewals, ensuring that all contractual obligations are met and that any disputes are addressed quickly
• Monitor and report on procurement-related expenses, identifying areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements
• Drive value engineering and alternative sourcing initiatives.
• Manage urgent procurement needs in response to unexpected issues or breakdowns, ensuring quick and effective solutions
• Monitors audits and closure of protocol non-compliances across procurement activities.

Qualifications

15 years of experience in Procurement, Contract and Category, vendor, Risk Management.

Actioning on short notice requirements to meet client SLA/KPI is critical. These types of requirements will reduce our negotiation power with vendors.

Manage critical spares or OEM components that are limited to base-build vendors to ensure compatibility, availability, and consistent project progress.
