Overview
Role Overview We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Senior Manager – Accounts Receivable (UAE National) to join their GCC Finance function. This role is open exclusively to UAE Nationals and is suited for a finance professional with strong people leadership skills and a hands-on approach to managing receivables operations within a complex, multi-entity environment. The successful candidate will oversee receivables activities across a portfolio of business units, including large-scale operational divisions similar to parks, zones, or leasing-based businesses, and will play a key role in driving collections, controls, reporting accuracy, and team performance.
Team & Scope
- Direct responsibility for a team of 6 direct reports (Assistant Managers, Senior Accountants, and Accountants)
- Oversight of receivables for multiple business units within a diversified portfolio
- Senior stakeholder exposure within finance and across the wider business
- Reporting directly to the Director – Accounts Receivable
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Accounts Receivable function, ensuring timely, accurate month-end and year-end close in line with accounting standards.
- Oversee revenue recognition, AR controls, and compliance, ensuring high-quality financial reporting and audit readiness.
- Drive collections performance, ageing reduction, and dispute resolution, providing hands-on leadership and escalation support where required.
- Ensure all receivables are collected within agreed timelines and that exceptions (disputes, PDCs, bounced cheques, payment extensions) are actively monitored and resolved.
- Own AR balance sheet reconciliations, including sub-ledger to general ledger and intercompany balances.
- Prepare and analyse DSO, ageing, collection, and provisioning reports, sharing insights with senior finance leadership and relevant stakeholders.
- Act as a key point of contact for internal, external, and regulatory audits, ensuring smooth coordination and timely responses.
- Partner closely with Payables, Treasury, and other finance teams to ensure accurate transaction recording and issue resolution.
- Lead, coach, and develop the AR team, setting clear objectives, reviewing performance, and enhancing processes, policies, and controls.
- Support finance systems enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with IT and wider stakeholders.
Candidate Profile
- UAE National
- Proven experience in a managerial or senior managerial Accounts Receivable role
- Strong hands-on experience across receivables operations, collections, ageing, and financial controls
- Experience managing teams and driving performance in structured environments
- Confident communicator with the ability to engage senior stakeholders
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline
- Professional finance qualification or Master’s degree is an advantage
- 8–10 years’ experience in finance roles within large organisations, government, semi-government, or multinational environments
- Strong working knowledge of IFRS, financial accounting, and ERP systems (Oracle preferred)
