Job summary

EDGE is seeking an experienced Radar Maintenance Engineer in Abu Dhabi to lead maintenance, fault diagnosis, and field deployment of advanced radar and EW systems. The role combines RF and radar engineering with hands-on analysis to ensure high reliability and readiness across operations.

You will manage technicians, coordinate spares, document procedures, and collaborate with systems engineers to ensure compliant and traceable results.

Qualifications

• Native Arabic speaker.
• 5-7 years of hardware and software engineering experience with radar or EW applications.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
• Master’s or Ph.D. degree is a plus with highest qualification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of RF principles and radar theory including Doppler, pulse compression and beamforming.
• Proficiency with CST, AWR, or ANSYS HFSS.
• Proficiency in RF testing equipment (e.g., spectrum analysers, network analysers, oscilloscopes).
• Experience with radar systems such as phased-array, pulse-Doppler, or SAR.
• Strong insight on radar and EW signal processing.
• Experience with electronic schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance: inspections, hardware testing, and complex fault diagnosis.
• Lead fault-finding and RCFA for radar anomalies; implement long-term fixes.
• Manage a team of technicians and engineers; ensure SOP adherence.
• Coordinate with procurement to manage spares and inventory.
• Maintain maintenance logs and update technical schematics; ensure safety compliance.
• Lead field deployment of systems for qualification and data gathering.
• Collaborate with system engineers, mechanical engineers, software teams and algorithms specialists.
• Document testing processes, results, and system behavior for traceability.
• Identify maintenance risks and propose mitigation strategies to avoid delays.
• Keep up to date with RF radar technologies and industry trends.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Radar Maintenance Engineer to lead maintenance, troubleshooting, and field deployment activities for advanced radar and electronic warfare (EW) systems. The role combines strong RF and radar engineering expertise with hands‑on fault diagnosis and system performance analysis to ensure system reliability, operational readiness, and continuous performance improvement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Preventive & Corrective Maintenance: Perform and supervise routine inspections, hardware testing, and complex fault diagnosis using diagnostic tools and circuit diagrams.
• Troubleshooting & Analysis: Lead fault‑finding, perform Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) for radar anomalies, and develop robust, long‑term corrective actions.
• Team Leadership: Manage a team of technicians and junior engineers, delegating daily tasks, providing technical mentorship, and ensuring strict adherence to SOPs.
• Spare Parts & Inventory: Coordinate with procurement and repair centers to manage critical spares, consumables, and supply chain replenishment.
• Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate maintenance logs, update technical schematics, and ensure all work complies with strict safety and industry regulations.
• Deployment of operational systems: Lead and co‑ordinate field deployment of systems for qualification and gathering of operational data
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including system engineers, mechanical engineers, software teams and algorithms specialists to ensure system availability
• Document testing processes, results, and system behavior during the phases, ensuring comprehensive traceability.
• Identify risks during maintenance and repair and propose mitigation strategies to avoid delays or performance issues.
• Keep up to date with the latest RF and radar technologies and industry trends.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Native Arabic speaker
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in hardware and software engineering with strong focus in radar or EW applications.
• Bachelors degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• A Master’s or a Ph.D. degree is a plus with preference given to the highest qualification.
• Strong knowledge of RF principles and radar theory, including doppler frequency modulation, pulse compression and beamforming.
• Proficiency with simulation tools such as CST, AWR, or ANSYS HFSS
• Proficiency in RF testing equipment (e.g., spectrum analysers, network analysers, oscilloscopes, etc.)
• Experience with radar systems, such as phased‑array radar, pulse‑Doppler radar, or synthetic aperture radar (SAR).
• Strong insight on radar and EW signal processing
• Experience with electronic schematics
