Job summary

PayerMax seeks a Senior Legal Counsel to lead legal operations for its payments business in Dubai, UAE. You will act as the central legal point for the UAE arm, overseeing contracts, regulatory compliance, and governance matters in a fast-paced fintech environment.

You bring an undergraduate law degree (LLB or equivalent) and 10+ years of relevant experience, with UAE or common-law qualification preferred, and you must be proficient in English.

• 10+ years of relevant legal experience in payments/fintech.

Responsibilities

• Act as the central legal point of contact for the UAE payment business.
• Manage the end-to-end payments lifecycle, including card scheme onboarding and merchant expansion.
• Draft and negotiate complex commercial agreements, including banking relationships and intra-group arrangements.
• Provide legal support for corporate governance and board resolutions.
• Partner with the Compliance team to interpret regulatory requirements (CBUAE, AML/Sanctions, PCI DSS).
• Ensure your profile is updated with relevant experience in fintech or financial services.
