Job summary

Thales in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Senior Java Software Engineer with a backend focus to design, develop and maintain scalable applications using Java, Spring Boot and related frameworks. You will contribute to API design, CI/CD pipelines and production deployments, while collaborating with cross-functional teams across the UAE and beyond.

The role requires a strong command of English, hands-on experience with Linux, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and a passion for high-quality technical documentation.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in Java development with Spring Boot and related frameworks.
• Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
• Experience with Agile software tools: Git, JIRA, Jenkins, Artifactory or similar.
• Front-end exposure with Angular/React; willing to contribute to front-end tasks.
• Strong technical writing in English and ability to produce high-quality documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain back-end services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Design APIs and integrate with front-end components and external systems.
• Participate in CI responsibilities (Jenkins, Maven, Artifactory, Git, Jira, Sonar).
• Own code, participate in deployments and support production runs (Ansible, Bash, SSH, Linux, Docker).
• Prepare and deliver project deliverables (SRS, design docs, test plans, release notes).
