Job summary

DISCOVERED in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Java Engineer to own high-performance backend systems. You will build resilient, ultra-low-latency services that process real-time data pipelines, scale across distributed environments, and integrate with cloud and on-prem platforms.

The role requires deep Core Java expertise, JVM tuning, and experience with Spring Boot and modern streaming stacks (Kafka/Flink). Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential as you tackle complex data processing

Qualifications

• 4+ years of backend software engineering experience shipping production-grade applications.
• Mastery of Core Java (advanced features, memory management, JVM tuning) and Spring Boot/Microservices.
• Strong knowledge of high-volume data streaming (Kafka/Flink) and SQL/NoSQL optimization.
• Experience with containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud-native infra (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Product-builder mindset with a focus on low-latency optimization in a fast-paced startup environment.

As a Java Engineer, you will move completely away from standard, basic CRUD applications to take massive ownership over our core data processing engine. You will be responsible for building resilient, low-latency backend systems that scale seamlessly.

• High-Throughput Backend Architecture: Architect, design, and implement resilient, ultra-low-latency backend applications and microservices using Core Java to process real-time data streaming and complex analytics pipelines.
• System Optimization & Concurrency: Performance-tune server-side applications, mastering memory management, multithreading, and asynchronous programming to eliminate processing bottlenecks and maximize throughput.
• API & Integration Engineering: Design and deploy robust, secure RESTful APIs and modern communication protocols to facilitate high-speed data integration across distributed cloud and on-premise platforms.
• Data Infrastructure Scaling: Collaborate with data teams to optimize relational and non-relational database scripts, ensuring seamless storage, aggregation, and lightning- fast retrieval of multi-relational data.
• Clean Code & Delivery Assurance: Champion engineering excellence by writing clean, highly testable code, maintaining comprehensive unit/integration test suites, and driving robust CI/CD deployment cycles.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with front-end engineers, product managers, and system architects to translate complex operational workflows into highly intuitive, scalable software features.
