Job summary

Bilfinger is seeking an experienced Senior Instrument Commissioning Engineer for a secondment with a leading UAE Oil & Gas client. You will provide specialist Instrumentation & Control expertise across engineering, pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up, testing and handover activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, Control & Automation, Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years of instrumentation & control experience, preferably in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, Offshore or Energy projects.
• Strong experience in Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning, Start-up, Mechanical Completion, and Handover.
• Proven experience with DCS, PLC, ESD, F&G and SCADA systems.
• Hands-on with loop checking, calibration, functional testing, interlocks, alarms, and performance testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead instrumentation commissioning activities including calibration, loop checking, functional testing, interlock testing, alarm testing, and performance verification.
• Provide input during engineering and design phases to ensure commissioning-readiness of projects.
• Support Mechanical Completion and Commissioning Management Systems implementation.
• Develop, review and approve commissioning procedures, test sheets, punch lists, and handover documentation.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Construction, Operations, Maintenance, HSE, Vendors and other disciplines for timely delivery and handover.
• Lead troubleshooting of complex instrumentation and control system issues during start-up and handover.
