Overview
The Senior HR & Recruitment Coordinator – Yachts provides hands-on support across recruitment, crewing, and HR administration for yacht operations. The role focuses on coordinating crew recruitment, documentation, compliance, and crew welfare in line with maritime regulations, while working closely with Captains, Yacht Managers, and external service providers. This position is operational and detail-oriented, ideal for a professional experienced in yacht crewing and HR coordination within a fast-paced, international environment.
Responsibilities
- Recruitment & Crewing Coordination: Coordinate end-to-end recruitment activities for yacht crew across all departments.
- Source candidates through crewing platforms, agencies, and internal databases.
- Schedule and coordinate interviews with Captains and yacht management.
- Collect, verify, and track crew certifications (STCW, ENG1, licenses).
- Maintain accurate crew records, availability, and rotation schedules.
- HR Administration & Compliance: Prepare and process seafarer employment agreements in line with MLC 2006 and flag state requirements.
- Ensure crew documentation, certifications, and medicals remain valid and compliant.
- Coordinate visas, seaman books, flag endorsements, and travel arrangements.
- Maintain confidential crew files and compliance trackers.
- Support disciplinary and grievance processes administratively, as required.
- Payroll, Leave & Benefits Coordination: Coordinate payroll inputs, leave balances, and rotation data with finance teams.
- Track contract periods, sign-on/sign-off dates, and end-of-contract documentation.
- Assist with crew medical insurance, repatriation, and welfare arrangements.
- Crew Welfare & Support: Act as a point of contact for crew HR-related queries.
- Support onboarding and off-boarding processes.
- Escalate sensitive or complex matters to senior management or yacht managers.
- Ensure confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Liaise with Captains, yacht managers, recruitment agencies, and maritime service providers.
- Support reporting requirements related to crewing and HR documentation.
- Assist in audits or inspections related to MLC and crew compliance.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Must-Have: Must have 6–8 years’ experience in yacht crewing, maritime HR, or recruitment coordination.
- Strong knowledge of MLC 2006 and basic flag state requirements.
- Experience coordinating yacht crew recruitment and documentation.
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
- High level of discretion and confidentiality.
Preferred Experience
- Preferred Experience working with luxury yachts or yacht management companies.
- Familiarity with crew management systems and crewing platforms.
- Maritime or HR-related qualifications.
