Senior Expeditor – UAE

Wood is recruiting an experienced Senior Expeditor to join our UAE business unit, part of the Engineering team within the Oil, Gas & New Energies business based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The position is full‑time office based at our Engineering Center in Abu Dhabi.

Our clients and projects: This fast‑track, schedule‑oriented design project aims to take over the existing asset and maximize production in two phases. Phase 1 restores, upgrades, and develops the current plant (CPF1), including restoration of CPF1 capacity, building a new export pipeline, restoring CPF1 integrity, flaring elimination, new flowlines, pads, electrification for new wells, debottlenecking, and safety upgrades.

Expediting & Supplier Management
  • Monitor and track all purchase orders, ensuring adherence to schedules and obligations.
  • Conduct proactive expediting via supplier visits, calls, and progress reporting to identify potential delays.
  • Review supplier production, fabrication, inspection/testing plans, and shipping arrangements.
  • Escalate critical delays and develop recovery plans with suppliers.
  • Ensure vendor documents (drawings, data sheets, test reports, QA/QC documentation) are submitted and approved per requirements.
Project Coordination
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Engineering, and Construction to align material readiness with milestones.
  • Attend project progress meetings and provide expediting status updates and risk assessments.
  • Coordinate with logistics on packing, transportation, customs documentation, and delivery sequencing.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain expediting logs, vendor progress reports, fabrication status charts, and delivery forecasts.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly expediting reports for project management.
  • Track and close all non‑conformances related to supplier performance or documentation.
Schedule & Risk Management
  • Identify schedule threats early and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Support development and maintenance of procurement schedules and material tracking tools.
  • Participate in vendor kick‑off and pre‑inspection meetings to communicate schedule requirements.
Quality & Compliance
  • Verify supplier adherence to contractual, technical, and quality requirements.
  • Interface with QA/QC inspectors to coordinate inspections, witness points, and release activities.
  • Ensure compliance with EPCM procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
