ADNOC in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced Electrical/Instrumentation/Automation Engineer to assess existing systems (ICS, DCS, Real-Time Plant Information and Laboratory Management Systems) for obsolescence and support. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Instrumentation/Automation Engineering or equivalent.
• 8 years' experience in design, installation, commissioning, operations, maintenance, testing and CS validation of automation systems in a large industrial setting.
• Experience with HSE policies and ADNOC standards.

Responsibilities

• Audit performance of ICS, DCS, process control systems and real-time plant information management systems for obsolescence, spare parts, vendor support and interoperability.
• Develop and update technical specification documents; conduct economic feasibility studies for applications.
• Create system functional specs, design and as-built docs, user manuals and training materials for minor modifications.
• Provide technical and engineering expertise to plants in real-time process information management and laboratory information management systems.
• Deliver operational, technical and engineering support in optimization, alarm management and MES applications.
• Prepare scope of work, tender documents; participate in technical bid evaluations per company standards.
• Coordinate/participate in implementation of approved projects including installation, commissioning and future upgrades within budget.

About the Role:

Assess existing systems (ICS, DCS, Process Control Systems, and Real-Time Plant Information andLaboratory Management Systems) on obsolescence, spare parts availability, vendor support, interoperabilityand integration for a safe and reliable system operation conforming to Company andInternational standards.

• Audit the performance of systems, identify opportunities for process performance monitoring andimprovements to ensure that the systems conform to applicable standards.
• Provide support in development & updating of the technical specification document and conducteconomic feasibility studies to evaluate financial and technical viability of applications.
• Develop system functional specifications, design & as-built documentation, user manuals, trainingmaterials for minor modifications carried out in the existing applications. Co-ordinate with sitemaintenance personnel for development of Vendor support, modifications and upgrades.
• Provide Technical & Engineering expertise to Plants in the field of Real-time Process InformationManagement system and Laboratory Information management system.
• Provide operational, technical and engineering expertise in the field of Optimization, AlarmManagement, Control Loop Performance Monitoring and higher level MES applications.
• Develop scope of work, tender documents, participate in the technical bid evaluation to meet systemsrequirements as per Company standards and specifications.
• Co-ordinate / participate in the implementation of approved projects including installation andcommissioning and future upgrades to ensure timely completion within the budget.

Supervision

• Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
• Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job anddeliver the respective section objectives.

Budgets

• Provide input for preparation of the functional budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budgetand work plans to deliver Section objectives.
• Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost controlPolicies, Systems, Processes & Procedures

Performance Management

• Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the function in line with theCompany Performance framework.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

• Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
• Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line withbest Industry standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.

Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability

• Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.

Reports

• Provide inputs to prepare Section MIS and progress reports for Company Management.
