About the role

Reporting to the General Manager, the Senior Energy Placement Broker is responsible for managing and executing high‑value energy insurance placements for regional and international clients. The Senior Energy Placement Broker will develop placement strategies, negotiate with global insurance and reinsurance markets, and ensure optimal coverage, pricing, and capacity. The position requires strong technical insight, exceptional relationship management, and the ability to support business development while providing clear, confident advice to clients on complex energy risks.

Responsibilities: Placement Delivery
  • Lead complex placements and renewals across the full energy value chain.
  • Prepare slips, wordings, and placement documentation to market standards.
  • Achieve competitive pricing, coverage, and capacity outcomes.
Market Relations
  • Build strong underwriting relationships across GCC, London, and global markets.
  • Assess market appetite, capacity cycles, and pricing trends.
  • Present risks confidently to senior underwriters.
Client Advisory
  • Advise clients on coverage gaps, policy structures, and technical considerations.
  • Support risk presentations, stewardship reports, and renewal planning.
  • Provide rapid issue resolution and high‑quality service.
Growth & Opportunity Development
  • Support new‑business pitches and strategic tenders.
  • Identify expansion opportunities across energy and industrial sectors.
  • Contribute to regional market development plans.
Technical Governance
  • Ensure placements meet regulatory, procedural, and compliance obligations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, audit trails, and reporting.
  • Review all endorsements, binders, and subjectivities for completeness.
Internal Collaboration
  • Partner with claims, analytics, engineering, and international networks.
  • Share market intelligence and contribute to team capability.
  • Coach junior staff and provide technical mentorship.
Candidate Qualifications
  • Degree in Insurance, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • ACII or equivalent professional insurance qualification preferred.
  • Extensive experience (7–12 years) in energy insurance placement or broking.
