Job description
Senior Electrical & Maintenance Engineer

As a Senior Electrical & Maintenance Engineer, your mission is to supervise the Electrical and Maintenance activities in our Production Department. You will report to Head of the Production.

You will;

  • Verify that all materials used align with project specifications and quality standards.
  • Ensure required materials are available on-site before execution begins.
  • Maintain safety across all electrical tasks, including maintenance, wiring, glanding, and terminations.
  • Document and report project progress, activities, and issues regularly.
  • Promote overall team safety and adherence to factory safety protocols.
  • Monitor quality and ensure compliance with technical and regulatory requirements.
  • Record and maintain logs for preventive and breakdown maintenance, including machinery lists.
  • Supervise cable tray installations, electrical and instrumentation cabling, earthing, glanding, and terminations.
  • Oversee installation and functionality checks of control panels, motors, junction boxes, starter panels, and VFD wiring.
  • Coordinate with multiple departments to ensure smooth and timely project execution.
  • Manage maintenance and repair of Office air conditioning systems.
  • Ensure proper functioning of office fire alarm systems and related safety equipment.
  • Plan material needs, manpower allocation, and project timelines for efficient delivery.
  • Support energy-saving initiatives and office automation improvements.
  • Assist in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) for electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Handle breakdown maintenance for plant machinery, construction equipment, welding machines, and other assets.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules for equipment and machinery based on manufacturer guidelines, while also tracking usage, managing reorder levels, and coordinating with procurement to prevent downtime due to missing spare parts.
  • Assist in preparing documentation and ensuring compliance during internal or external audits.
  • Provide basic technical guidance to less experienced team members or new joiners during handover or onboarding.
  • Oversee electrical support for lighting, water pumps, and other utility systems within the facility.

  • B-Tech / Diploma in Electrical Engineer
  • Expertise in Electrical & Instrumentation
  • Background on Electrical / Instrumentation / Industrial Manufacturing or Fabrication
  • Strong knowledge on industrial machinery and electrical systems

COMPEX certification is an added advantage for this role, especially for inspection and certification of electrical and instrumentation systems in potentially explosive (Ex) atmospheres. The role may involve verifying compliance with IECEx and ATEX standards, conducting inspections, and supporting safety and quality in hazardous environments.
