Job summary

Crescent Petroleum seeks a Senior Fluids Engineer to provide technical leadership for drilling fluids, solids control, and waste management across exploration, appraisal, and development wells. The role owns BoD and DFP, designs fluid systems for challenging formations, and oversees contractor performance while ensuring HSE compliance throughout the well lifecycle.

The ideal candidate has 12–15 years in fluids roles, with 5+ at a senior level, and experience in Middle East/high-H2S environments

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 12-15 years of progressive fluids-related experience, with at least 5 years in senior/coordinating or managerial roles (Drilling Fluids Coordinator, Senior Fluids Engineer, Fluids SME, or equivalent).
• Experience in sour-gas / high-H2S carbonate environments, particularly in the Middle East or Kurdistan Region of Iraq, is highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for drilling fluids, solids control, and waste management activities across the full well lifecycle.
• Own the fluids Basis of Design (BoD) documents, detailed Drilling Fluids Programs (DFP), and Recommended Practices (RP).
• Design fluid systems for formation challenges and ensure programs are technically robust and operationally feasible.
• Manage contractors, develop technical specifications, and coach rig-site fluids engineers.
• Maintain daily fluid parameters, monitor progress, and ensure timely reporting and cost control.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Geology, or a closely related discipline
