Job summary

NAFFCO in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Senior Draughtsman with substation mechanical expertise to produce detailed drawings and documentation for fire fighting systems. The role emphasizes compliance with standards and coordination with project teams.

The ideal candidate will have strong CAD skills (AutoCAD, Revit), attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and site personnel.

Qualifications

• Recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering CAD Design.
• Significant experience in mechanical draughting for substations or similar critical infrastructure.
• Familiarity with mechanical fire fighting installations such as sprinklers and fire detection.
• Experience with drawing registers and version control in an engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed mechanical drawings layouts and schematics for substation fire fighting systems.
• Develop GA drawings, isometrics, P&IDs, fabrication details and installation layouts.
• Revise drawings to reflect evolving project requirements and approvals.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and contractors to ensure compliance with specs and codes.
• Maintain drawing registers and version control for all schematics.
• Conduct site surveys for as-built verifications and coordination issues.
• Contribute to standardisation of drafting methods and fire protection documentation.
