Job summary

Tanqeeb is seeking an experienced CAD Designer to develop detailed layouts and drawings using AutoCAD, with familiarity in lighting and automation systems. You will collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure specifications are met and designs comply with standards.

Strong documentation skills and proficiency in MS Office are required. Ideal candidates hold a engineering degree or a design diploma with relevant experience, and have 2–6 years of CAD design expertise.

Job description

1. Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and layouts received from consultants, contractors, and clients.

2. Develop detailed project layouts, schematic diagrams, and single-line drawings using AutoCAD and related design tools.

3. Prepare project data tables, schedules, and technical documentation.

4. Collaborate closely with Project Managers and engineering teams to ensure designs meet project requirements.

5. Coordinate with internal teams, clients, consultants, and contractors on all design-related matters.

6. Ensure compliance with internal design standards, technical requirements, and industry best practices.

7. Support and mentor CAD Drafters by providing technical guidance and design support.

8. Deliver design packages within agreed project timelines and milestones.

9. Verify that all designs undergo internal functional and technical reviews before submission.

10. Generate reports, schedules, and documentation using relevant design software.

11. Maintain project records and design documentation within project management systems.

12. Review Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and validate that design quantities accurately match project requirements.

13. Develop baseline software or system configurations required to support project commissioning activities.

14. Contribute innovative ideas and recommend improvements to enhance design quality and project outcomes.

15. Stay informed on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices.

16. Coordinate design-related activities between operations teams and site teams throughout project execution.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in the latest versions of AutoCAD.

• Experience with lighting, automation, or integrated systems design software such as Lutron.
