Job summary

Heriot-Watt University Dubai Campus is seeking a Senior Data Administrator to advance Registry & Academic Services data needs. You will manage regulatory datasets, ensure compliance, and provide reporting expertise across MoHESR, KHDA, and other bodies.

The role emphasizes data accuracy, governance and proactive insights to support student outcomes. You will work with Banner systems, Power BI dashboards and Excel, collaborating with Dubai and Edinburgh teams to maintain data standards and drive

Qualifications

• The role-holder should have a first degree or equivalent featuring significant numerical and analytical content.
• Excellent IT skills with experience across the MS Office suite, and in particular PowerBI and Excel.
• Demonstrable experience of extracting, analysing and interpreting data to produce reports and dashboards.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including data visualisation and presentation skills.
• Analytical problem-solving skills.
• Well-developed interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrable excellent customer service.
• Demonstrable ability to work quickly, flexibly and accurately in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Take operational responsibility for data submissions to MoHESR, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Take operational responsibility for data submissions to KHDA.
• Take operational responsibility for data submissions to other regulatory bodies as required.
• Interpret evolving regulatory data requirements to keep datasets compliant and submission-ready.
• Act as a point of contact for regulator-driven ad hoc data requests and prioritisation.
• Lead production and QA of retention and progression datasets for Dubai campus.
• Support development of analytical outputs informing student experience initiatives and KPIs.
• Identify data anomalies, trends and risks and propose solutions.
• Maintain data definitions, processes and documentation for transparency and audit-readiness.
• Work with Banner and reporting tools to improve data accuracy and reporting efficiency.
• Stay updated on data systems, regulatory platforms and reporting tools.
• Collaborate with academic and professional service departments providing complex data support.
• Communicate with colleagues across global institution, especially Dubai and Edinburgh teams.
• Participate in regulatory data workshops and training.
• Contribute to process improvements strengthening data governance and reducing risks.
• Undertake complex data-related projects with independent planning.
