Job summary

Wipro is seeking a Senior Data Engineer – Splunk to join our Data & Analytics team in a high‑impact enterprise role. You will lead administration of Splunk environments, oversee upgrades, and ensure data quality across multiple sources including cloud platforms.

The role demands 5+ years of hands‑on Splunk experience, proficiency in CIM, SPL, dashboards, and automation with Python/PowerShell/Bash. You will contribute to scalable, secure SIEM operations and enterprise data analytics.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on experience administering Splunk Enterprise.
• Strong experience with Splunk Indexers, SHC, architecture, and scaling.
• Data onboarding and normalization from multiple sources.
• Experience with CIM compliance and SPL development.
• Dashboard, alert and report development, plus data model awareness.
• Scripting in Python, PowerShell or Bash for automation.
• Understanding of SIEM, log management and security standards.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain enterprise Splunk environments including Search Heads, Indexers, Forwarders, and Clustering.
• Perform upgrades, patching, version management, and platform optimization.
• Onboard and normalize data from Syslog, APIs, databases, cloud platforms and apps.
• Implement and maintain CIM compliance.
• Develop and optimize dashboards, reports, alerts, saved searches, and data models.
• Troubleshoot indexing delays, ingestion issues, and search performance bottlenecks.
• Optimize SPL queries, field extractions, props.conf, and transforms.conf.
• Monitor and improve platform health, scalability, and performance.
• Collaborate with application teams to onboard new log sources and ensure data quality.
• Implement automation using Python, PowerShell, or Bash scripting.
