Job summary

emaratechDubai is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, develop, own, and optimize the organization’s enterprise data platform. The role ensures data is reliable, accessible, secure, and fit for analytics, reporting and advanced data use cases.

You will design, build, and maintain scalable batch and streaming pipelines, own ingestion, transformation, storage, and retrieval, and ensure platform high availability and performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in computer sciences / IT / Engineering.
• Cloud or data engineering certifications are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable batch and streaming data pipelines.
• Own end-to-end data ingestion, transformation, storage and retrieval processes.
• Ensure high availability, scalability and performance of the enterprise data platform.
• Monitor and resolve data pipeline failures and production issues.
• Implement data quality checks, validation, and monitoring mechanisms.
• Ensure consistency, accuracy, and integrity of data across systems.
• Contribute to data governance standards, documentation, and lineage.
• Ensure compliance with data security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
• Automate deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of the data platform.
• Ensure platform stability through proactive monitoring and performance tuning
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures for recurring issues.
• Optimize data structures and models to support analytics and reporting workloads
• Tune data processing and query performance to meet business and operational SLAs
• Drive continuous improvement and future enhancements to the data platform
• Contribute to the design and evolution of the organization’s data architecture
• Define and enforce data engineering standards, patterns, and best practices
• Provide technical guidance to junior team members
• Identify training needs and set goals with manager.
• Implements procedures and controls covering all areas relevant to the role so that procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost effective service.
• Ensure that the design and the development of the software, is in line with industry’s best security standards, practices, or methodologies.
• Ensure that the information security framework and all relevant procedures, standards and practices are followed by all team members.
• Build appropriate controls into business application software so that the business activity it supports is secure and reliable.
• Complies with all relevant quality management procedures and controls to guarantee compliance and delivery of high-quality products/service.
• Stimulates and contributes to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices considering best practices, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
• Prepares timely and accurate MIS statements and reports as required.
