Job description

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and operationalizing advanced data platform components. You will work within cross-functional agile pods, closely collaborating with architects, technical leads, and client stakeholders to deliver scalable and secure data solutions.

This is a hands-on engineering role requiring strong technical skills, a deep understanding of modern data architectures, and experience in delivering production-grade solutions in cloud environments — particularly within Microsoft Azure.

Key Responsibilities

Design and build robust data pipelines, models, and integrations aligned with program objectives.

Develop data transformation and automation solutions using Python, SQL, and Notebooks.

Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps for streamlined deployment and testing.

Support modernization of legacy data infrastructure into a scalable, cloud-native platform.

Apply best practices in data governance, metadata management, and Master Data Management (MDM).

Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve technical challenges and meet tight delivery timelines.

Conduct performance tuning, validation, and testing of data pipelines and components.

Maintain clear documentation for all data processes, configurations, and architectures.

Contribute to ongoing troubleshooting, optimization, and support activities.

Required Skills & Experience

7+ years of professional experience in data engineering or data platform development.

Deep expertise in:

Python and SQL for data transformation and automation.

Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, and Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS).

Microsoft Fabric for data integration, transformation, and analytics.

Microsoft Purview for data governance and cataloging.

Profisee for Master Data Management (MDM).

Erwin Mart for data modeling and metadata management.

Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines and release automation.

Strong understanding of data governance, metadata standards, and regulatory compliance.

Experience working on large-scale, mission-critical data platforms in enterprise or public sector environments.

Proven ability to work in client-facing roles, handling multiple stakeholders.

Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.

Availability to start immediately for a high-visibility, short-term project.
