Qualifications

Job description
Role: Senior Credit Documentation Officer
Location: Dubai
Role Purpose:
  • The position acts as the last filter in the limit approval process where the exposures undertaken by the Bank of its customers are being reviewed and scrutinized for its adequacy /correctness in terms of approvals, adherence to Credit policies laid down in the Credit Policy, Product Manuals and department SOP’s, compliance to documentation standards in terms of security and facility agreements.
  • To ensure that Bank is always protected with appropriate source documents, legally enforceable charge documentation / securities, duly assigned insurance policies and adequate underlying value of securities prior to feeding limits and are effectively controlled and monitored through a follow up system for routine actions.
Key accountabilities of the role:
  • Ensure that all terms and conditions stipulated in the Credit Approval as precedent to disbursement of limits have been duly complied with and all securities and required documents have been obtained prior to releasing limits for the assigned segment. If not, specific waiver / deferral must be available on record.
  • To prepare and review FOL/Agreements/Security documents to ensure compliance to legal standards, credit policies and approvals under the supervision of Team leader.
  • Ensure timely update of all systems with credit related information such as Risk rating, Expiry dates and Collateral details.
  • Assist the Team Leader in timely implementation of recommendations of Credit Review / Audit Department.
  • Provide the best customer service to business partners and maintain turnaround time as per SLAs for handling and releasing facility limits.
  • Provide assistance to the Manager in formulating and implementing SOP’s for the department.
  • Support Team Leader in completion of assigned projects.
  • Identify irregularities/deviation/exceptions and log them into the exception report after obtaining required approvals for tracking and monitoring purposes.
  • Update activities in daily log.
  • Ensuring adequate safe custody of all Credit and security documentation for assigned segment.
  • Preparation of documentation checklist for all clients within the assigned segment.
  • Process release of security requests after ensuring required approvals have been obtained and facilities have been settled.
  • Act as a backup for Custodian for Custodian of security chubb keys.
  • Report on customer exposure details to Central Bank
  • Report overdue exceptions to business and Risk Managers monthly.
Specialist skills / technical knowledge required for this role:
  • A thorough understanding of Bank’s Policies and product knowledge.
  • A thorough understanding of Islamic Credit Products.
  • Good understanding of technological issues with sound analytical ability and PC skills.
  • Effective communication skills in English and preferably knowledge in Arabic.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
