Job summary

Alpin Limited, a leading sustainability consultant in the Middle East, seeks a Senior Consultant - Sustainability to lead sustainability services for projects in Dubai or Abu Dhabi. You will oversee design, assessments, green building strategies and compliance with environmental standards, working with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.

The candidate should have extensive UAE/GCC experience, LEED/WELL credentials, and strong leadership and client-management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Sustainability, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant professional experience in sustainability consultancy, green building certification or management with UAE/GCC exposure.
• Independent management of sustainability consultancy projects across design and construction stages.
• Experience implementing green building certification systems like LEED, WELL, Estidama or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of sustainable design, energy and water efficiency, materials, indoor environmental quality.
• Familiarity with UAE/GCC sustainability regulations and local authority procedures.
• LEED AP and WELL AP accreditation required; Estidama PQP or Mostadam AP preferred.
• Strong project management including scope, schedule, budget, quality and accountability.
• Ability to manage client relationships and lead multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience mentoring junior staff and reviewing technical deliverables.
• Strong writing, presentation, communication and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Excellent English; Arabic is an advantage.
• UAE Driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

Sustainability Manager

Key Responsibilities:

Sustainability & Green Building Certification

• Lead and independently manage sustainability consultancy and green building certification projects throughout design, construction and certification stages.


• Develop and implement sustainability strategies, assessments and compliance plans aligned with project requirements and applicable rating systems, including LEED, WELL, Estidama, and other relevant frameworks.


• Manage certification processes, including credit assessments, documentation reviews, technical submissions, coordination with certification bodies and responses to review comments.


• Provide technical guidance to multidisciplinary design and construction teams on sustainable design strategies, material selection, energy and water efficiency, indoor environmental quality and other sustainability requirements.


• Review and ensure the technical quality of sustainability and certification submissions.

Project Management & Client Coordination

• Manage assigned projects, ensuring delivery within agreed scope, programme, budget and quality requirements.


• Act as the primary point of contact for assigned projects and maintain effective communication with clients, consultants, contractors and other stakeholders.


• Lead sustainability coordination meetings, design workshops and technical discussions to facilitate project compliance and resolve technical issues.


• Monitor project progress, resource allocation, deliverables and potential risks, and implement appropriate corrective actions.

Team Leadership & Quality Management

• Provide technical guidance, mentoring and supervision to junior sustainability consultants and engineers.


• Review and quality-check technical deliverables prepared by project team members to ensure accuracy, consistency and compliance with project requirements.


• Support knowledge sharing, internal training and continuous improvement of technical processes and project delivery standards.

Professional Development

• Contribute to technical publications, industry events, professional presentations and knowledge-sharing initiatives.


• Maintain professional development and remain updated on emerging sustainability standards, certification systems, regulations and industry best practices.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 8 years of relevant professional experience in sustainability consultancy, green building certification or management, with substantial experience in the UAE/GCC.


• Demonstrated experience in independently managing sustainability consultancy projects, including design and construction-stage delivery.


• Proven experience in implementing and managing green building certification systems such as LEED, WELL, Estidama, or equivalent international rating systems.


• Strong technical knowledge of sustainable design principles, energy and water efficiency, sustainable materials, indoor environmental quality and construction-stage sustainability requirements.


• Knowledge of UAE/GCC sustainability regulations, environmental requirements and relevant local authority procedures.


• LEED AP and WELL AP accreditation required; Estidama PQP, Mostadam AP or other relevant professional credentials preferred.


• Strong project management skills, including scope management, programme coordination, resource planning, quality control and project accountability.


• Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships, lead multidisciplinary coordination and provide technical guidance to project teams.
