Senior Compliance Officer (UAE)
A deep understanding of ADGM regulations and prior exposure to MLRO responsibilities are essential for this role, as this individual will play a critical role in building and maintaining Klickl’s global compliance framework and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards across our Web3 operations.
Key Responsibilities
- ADGM-Focused Compliance Leadership: Demonstrate strong expertise in ADGM (FSRA) regulatory frameworks, ensuring all compliance programs, processes, and reporting meet the latest FSRA requirements, especially for financial institutions and virtual asset service providers.
- MLRO-Level Regulatory Compliance: Support or perform MLRO-related duties, including AML/CTF oversight, suspicious activity reporting, and internal governance aligned with ADGM Rulebooks and international best practices.
- Compliance Framework Development: Assist in designing, implementing, and enhancing Klickl’s global compliance framework, policies, and procedures across multiple jurisdictions.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full compliance with UAE, EU, and North American regulatory requirements, including AML, KYC, CFT, data protection, and cross-border payments. Experience with ADGM’s AML Rulebook, FSRA Guidelines, and risk-based approaches is particularly important.
- Regulator Engagement: Act as a key liaison with ADGM FSRA and other local/international regulators, ensuring seamless communication, reporting, and issue resolution.
- Risk & Audit Oversight: Conduct ongoing compliance risk assessments, audits, and control reviews; identify gaps, recommend remediation, and monitor execution.
- Strategic Advisory: Advise senior management on regulatory developments, including ADGM licensing requirements, Web3 compliance trends, and global regulatory expectations.
- Team Leadership & Development: Support the Head of Compliance in building a high-performing compliance function; mentor junior team members and promote compliance awareness.
- Compliance Culture & Training: Drive ethical conduct and a compliance-first environment through training and communication initiatives.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Excellent Chinese and English (written & verbal)
- Experience: 5 –10 years in compliance or risk management within financial services, fintech, or digital assets.
- ADGM & MLRO Expertise (Critical):
- Deep understanding of ADGM FSRA frameworks, including AML Rulebook, GEN, AML/CTF obligations, and reporting requirements.
- Experience supporting or acting as MLRO or Deputy MLRO in a regulated entity is highly preferred.
- Industry Expertise: Experience in Web3, blockchain, or cryptocurrency compliance is a strong advantage.
