Job summary

Careem in Dubai is seeking a Senior Communications Specialist to lead external and internal communications across its services in the UAE and region. You will craft strategic messaging, handle media relations, crisis communications, and collaborate with product, marketing, policy, and leadership teams to amplify Careem's mission and priorities.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in communications, public relations, or journalism, preferably within a high-growth tech company or leading PR agency.
• Proven experience developing and executing strategic communications plans across multiple markets.
• Strong writing, storytelling, and editorial skills with an ability to translate complex topics into compelling narratives.
• Excellent media network and relationship management skills, particularly in the MENA region.
• Fluency in both English and Arabic is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute external communications strategies that amplify Careem’s mission, services, and impact
• Manage media relations including press outreach, press release drafting, and maintaining strong relationships with journalists and influencers across priority markets
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Product, Marketing, Policy, etc.) to align messaging and ensure consistent communication
• Handle crisis communication and reputation management in partnership with senior leadership
• Track media coverage and create regular reporting to assess effectiveness and guide improvements
• Support executive visibility through media interviews, speaking opportunities, and authored content
• Support internal communications, including leadership emails, all-hands content, org announcements, and campaigns that keep colleagues informed and engaged
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Product, Marketing, Policy, People, etc.) to align messaging and ensure consistent communication across external and internal channels
• Support executive visibility through media interviews, speaking opportunities, authored content, and internal leadership moments
