Job summary

A leading global consultancy seeks a Senior Commercial / Contracts Manager to join their infrastructure team in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will have over 15 years of experience in managing contracts for major high-speed rail projects. Responsibilities include managing commercial aspects, monitoring contract performance, and supporting the pre-contracts management team. A degree in Quantity Surveying or related field and fluency in English are required. This is a full-time position with no remote work option.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 15 years postgraduate experience on a major high-speed rail project.
  • Professional qualification in MRICS, MCIOB or equivalent is preferable.
  • Previous experience in the Middle East is an advantage.

Overview

We are looking for an ambitious and driven Senior Commercial / Contracts Manager to join our successful infrastructure team in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate should have experience managing the full contract and commercial lifecycle of a major high-speed rail project.

Responsibilities
  • Manage all commercial aspects of executing the programme management consultants role on a major high-speed rail project.
  • Monitor and report on contract administration performance by consultants, construction supervisors, and contractors.
  • Interface with other teams to meet overall programme deliverables.
  • Assist in the development of contracts and procurement strategy standards, policies, procedures and best practices.
  • Establish and maintain procedures for award and administration of project contracts where this role is in a pre-contract position.
  • Provide support to the pre-contracts management team to ensure that they meet project objectives by establishing contracts and securing materials, equipment and related services on time and within budget in an ethical manner at all times in accordance with procedures.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 15 years postgraduate experience on a major high-speed rail project.
  • Degree holder in Quantity Surveying or related field (Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering).
  • Professional qualification in MRICS, MCIOB or equivalent is preferable.
  • Sound knowledge of contract administration aspects of a major rail project with substantial experience in contract administration.
  • Experience managing large teams of up to 15 people.
  • Experience in international contracting mechanisms e.g. FIDIC.
  • Experience in assessment of claims and variations on major infrastructure projects.
  • Experienced user of MS Office, contract administration software and project management software.
  • Undergraduate degree or membership of a recognized International Professional Body e.g. MRICS.
  • Previous experience in the Middle East is an advantage.
  • Fluency in English language both written and spoken.
