Role

The Senior Marine Client Manager will be responsible for leading and managing the Marine client portfolio in the UAE with the Head of Corporate Risks, encompassing both Corporate and SME segments of the Marine Clients. The role is focused on delivering exceptional client servicing, ensuring efficient placement and administration of marine insurance programs, and maintaining the highest standards of technical excellence and client satisfaction.

The Senior Marine Client Manager will play a key role in developing and executing marine strategies that drive business growth, client retention, and profitability. This includes supporting the design and implementation of tailored insurance solutions across Hull, Cargo, Marine Liability, P&I and associated marine lines, as well as contributing to the development of innovative propositions and digital servicing initiatives for the SME and Corporate segments.

In addition, the Senior Marine Client Manager will be instrumental in strengthening alignment and collaboration in strengthening the Marine Proposition with other Lockton offices in the Middle East and with the Lockton Global Marine Practice Internationally with the Head of Corporate Risks, ensuring consistent service standards, knowledge sharing, and cross-border business development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
Client & Account Management
  • Act as the senior point of contact for key Marine and Logistics clients, ensuring high-quality advisory and service delivery.
  • Oversee client programs from inception to renewal, ensuring risk understanding, appropriate coverages, and proactive servicing.
  • Conduct regular client meetings to review insurance arrangements, risk exposures, and recommend improvements and program optimizations.
  • Lead the Marine Practice initiatives with the Head of Corporate Risks & Broking Head in the UAE, overseeing strategy, business growth, client retention, and technical excellence across Hull, Cargo, Liability, P&I and associated marine lines.
  • Prepare and deliver reports, presentations, and proposals tailored to client needs.
Placement & Market Engagement
  • Lead negotiations with insurers, reinsurers, to secure optimal terms and structures for complex marine placements.
  • Maintain strong relationships with local and international marine underwriters to leverage capacity, specialist coverage, and competitive pricing.
  • Ensure all placements adhere to company standards, compliance frameworks, and best market practices.
  • Monitor market developments and emerging risks to proactively guide clients and internal teams.
Financial & Operational Oversight
  • Oversee the financial performance of the Marine portfolio including revenue growth, profitability, and premium collections.
  • Work closely with the Finance and Operations teams to ensure accurate reconciliation, billing, and credit control.
  • Monitor productivity, renewal retention ratios, and account profitability, taking corrective actions where needed.
Team Leadership & Development
  • Mentor and guide the Marine team, building technical expertise, negotiation skills, and client engagement capability.
  • Support recruitment, training, and succession planning to ensure sustainable growth and knowledge continuity.
  • Foster collaboration with Sales Team and internal practice teams to deliver seamless client experiences.
  • Promote a high-performance, client-first culture within the Marine Practice.
Sales Enablement & Growth
  • Partner with the Sales and Corporate teams to identify and convert new business opportunities.
  • Provide technical support for tenders, RFPs, and client presentations, ensuring the Marine value proposition is clearly articulated.
  • Identify cross-sell and up-sell opportunities across Property, Liability, Energy, and Specialty lines.
  • Contribute to thought leadership, marketing initiatives, and client education programs to enhance brand visibility.
Compliance & Governance
  • Ensure all activities within the Marine Practice comply with regulatory, legal, and internal audit requirements.
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation, client records, and placement files.
  • Champion continuous improvement, operational excellence, and risk management best practices.
