Overview

Senior Actuary / Underwriter - Actuarial Sciences - Specialized in Medical Insurance pricing

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Actuary specialized in the medical field to join our team. This is a full-time position with excellent benefits and growth opportunities.

Location: UAE

Contract: 6 Months (Extendable)

Budget: $600-$700 / day

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough analysis of medical insurance policies and claims data to assess risk and determine appropriate premiums
  • Develop and maintain actuarial models to forecast future costs and premiums
  • Collaborate with underwriters and other team members to develop new insurance products and improve existing ones
  • Monitor and evaluate the financial performance of medical insurance plans and make recommendations for improvement
  • Stay updated on industry trends and regulations related to medical insurance to ensure compliance and competitive advantage
  • Communicate complex actuarial concepts and findings to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
  • Mentor and train junior actuaries and provide guidance on actuarial methodologies and techniques
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field
  • Must have medical insurance pricing experience
  • Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries (FSA) or equivalent designation
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an actuary, with a focus on medical insurance
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in actuarial software and programming languages such as SAS, R, or Python
