Job summary

Mulk International is seeking a Senior Accountant specializing in Accounts Payable to lead day-to-day payable activities and ensure accurate processing of invoices in line with internal controls and regulatory requirements.

The role requires supervising vendor payments, performing month-end close, MIS reporting, VAT filings, and liaising with departments to allocate costs and maintain audit-ready documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or related field.
• ACCA CMA certification is a plus.
• 6 years of accounting experience, including 4+ years in senior AP role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, especially AP.
• Proficiency in accounting software.
• Advanced Excel skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines independently.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end accounts payable process including invoice verification and posting.
• Process vendor payments timely and in compliance with payment terms.
• Review invoices for documentation and approvals prior to payment.
• Reconcile accounts payable transactions and vendor aging.
• Perform monthly and year-end AP close, including accruals.
• Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
• Liaise with internal departments for cost allocations and approvals.
• Improve AP processes to increase efficiency.
• Support audits with documentation and explanations.
• Maintain AP records for audit and compliance.

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant with a strong focus on Accounts Payable to manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the payable function The ideal candidate will ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices adherence to internal controls vendor reconciliations and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements

Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end accounts payable process including invoice verification approval and posting
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor payments in compliance with internal policies and payment terms
• Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
• Reconcile accounts payable transactions and maintain vendor aging reports
• Perform monthly and year-end AP closing activities including accruals and reporting
• Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve any discrepancies or issues in a timely manner
• Liaise with internal departments to ensure proper cost allocations and approvals
• Monitor and improve AP processes to increase efficiency and accuracy
• Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations
• Maintain proper documentation and filing of AP records for audit and compliance purposes
• Competent enough to independently prepare MIS reports and VAT return filings
• Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Oversee and supervise supplier payments processing

Qualifications

• Professional certification e g ACCA CMA is an advantage
