Job summary

A leading conglomerate in Dubai is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to manage GL entries, perform reconciliations, and assist in financial statement preparation. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical skills and proficiency in accounting software. This position requires a team-oriented individual capable of handling multiple projects efficiently.

Qualifications

  • Accounting of GL related entries on daily basis.
  • Monthly reconciliation of intra and intercompany balances.
  • Prepare or collate all detailed schedules of Prepaid, depreciation, and amortisation.

Responsibilities

  • Review subledger balance with GL and ensure all subledger module balances are matched.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements.
  • Assist with internal and external annual audit preparations.

Skills

Strong mathematical and analytical skills
Proficient in word processing and spreadsheet software
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

Job description

Senior Accountant
Job Purpose (Senior Accountant – GL and Reporting)
  • Accounting of GL related entries on daily basis
  • Monthly reconciliation of intra and intercompany balances and clear off pending entries if any.
  • Prepare or collate all detailed schedules of Prepaid, depreciation, Amortisation, provisions, allocations and accruals
  • Accounting of all FA related transactions, run depreciation, maintain proper records for additions and retirements.
  • Review the subledger balance with GL and ensure all subledger module balances are matched to GL.
  • Prepare or assist in preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements and related schedules.
  • Assist the FP&A team for budgeting and Financial Score Card.
  • Assist the statutory reporting team for finalising the TB, preparing the FS, settling internal/external audit queries
  • Conduct detailed ledger scrutiny on monthly basis and maintain schedules for all major variances from previous periods
  • Analyse system gaps and and propose process automation to improve the efficiency.
  • Account the transactions with shareholders, maintain monthly schedules & proper records and obtain confirmations
  • Assisting with internal and external annual audit preparations.
  • Perform other accounting and reporting duties as and when required or assigned.
