Job summary

A leading recruitment consultancy in Abu Dhabi is looking for a Section Head to manage operations within the Global Market Operations department. The successful candidate will oversee a Control team to ensure that all workflows are executed smoothly and without errors. Ideal candidates should have at least 5 years of banking experience, a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance, and strong knowledge in Treasury products. Exposure to Murex is a plus.

Our client is one of the most recognisable names in the Financial Services industry and is in an enviable position to be able to recruit high-calibre professionals across the business.

Sitting within the Global Market Operations department, we are seeking a Section Head to manage a team to ensure that all operational work flows and all transactions occur timely and smoothly with no errors. The incumbent will work closely with management, stakeholders and other main parties to ensure that all post execution responsibilities occur correctly, timely and accurately and be the single point of contact for all operational issues, changes & implementations in relation to GMO processes and functions.

Accountabilities

• To develop, manage and guide Control team to perform their daily tasks and set plans/training to develop their skills and ensure bank competencies are implemented.
• To work with other areas of the bank to ensure that all transactions and requests are processed, confirmed and settled correctly with no errors in relation to the Brokerage payments and other internal accounting entries and adjustments.
• Manage and control all operational and trading activities from a risk perception in relation to global banking operations of the bank and managing the accounting functions for all the related business.
• Continuously monitor and review the processing systems, procedures and internal risk & controls.
• Ensure that the bank’s operational risk tools and framework are successfully implemented and reviewed on a periodic basis.
• To deputize for the Control Manager and Cash Management Section Head in their absence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Accounting or Finance.
• Strong knowledge of Accounting & Treasury products.
• Minimum of 5 years banking experience within a related division.
• Experience with statistical reporting and analysis (Ms Office).
• Murex knowledge is desirable.
