Job summary

Salt in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Senior SAP FICO Engineer to lead Finance automation and integration initiatives within a major enterprise transformation program. You will design, implement, and optimise SAP FICO processes across GL, AP, AR, and controlling areas, with a focus on automation and robust controls.

The role requires hands-on SAP S/4HANA Finance expertise, strong integration skills with external systems via APIs and SAP technologies, and close collaboration with backend and integration

Senior SAP FICO Engineer – Finance Automation & Integration

12-month initial contract - with extensions

My client is looking for an experienced Senior SAP FICO Engineer to join a major enterprise transformation programme in Abu Dhabi, focusing on SAP Finance automation, workflow optimisation, and enterprise system integration. This role requires a strong combination of SAP S/4HANA Finance expertise, technical integration knowledge, and experience automating complex financial processes while maintaining robust financial controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, support, and optimise SAP FICO processes across GL, AP, AR, Cost Centres, Internal Orders, Commitments, and Budget Management.
• Develop and enhance Finance workflows, approval processes, and automation solutions.
• Support integration between SAP Finance and external enterprise applications using APIs, OData, BAPIs, and SAP integration technologies.
• Work closely with backend, application, and integration engineers to enable seamless financial data exchange.
• Automate invoice processing, payment tracking, financial reporting, and reconciliation workflows.
• Ensure financial controls, segregation of duties, auditability, and compliance are maintained across automated processes.
• Support SAP MM-FI integration, testing, UAT, troubleshooting, and production stabilisation.

Key Requirements

• 7+ years of hands-on SAP FICO experience, with strong SAP S/4HANA Finance expertise.
• Deep understanding of end-to-end Finance processes and transaction flows.
• Proven experience integrating SAP Finance with external applications and enterprise platforms.
• Strong knowledge of Finance workflow automation, approvals, and financial controls.
• Familiarity with SAP APIs, OData, BAPIs, and integration frameworks.
• Experience supporting complex SAP production environments.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration skills.
