Job Description
A leading gas distribution company in the UAE is seeking a Prequalifications and Sales Engineer to drive business development and manage the technical and commercial prequalification process. This role requires expertise in gas systems tendering procedures and client relationship management with a strong focus on sales growth and market development.
Key Responsibilities
Prequalification & Tendering
- Prepare and submit prequalification documents, vendor registrations and EOIs.
- Coordinate with technical, legal and financial departments to compile documentation.
- Track prequalification status with clients, consultants and authorities.
- Maintain and update a database of submissions, approvals and renewals.
Sales & Business Development
- Identify and pursue new sales opportunities across industrial, commercial and infrastructure sectors.
- Conduct technical presentations and sales meetings with clients and consultants.
- Understand client needs and propose customized gas solutions in line with company capabilities.
- Negotiate and close commercial deals ensuring profitability and client satisfaction.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Build and manage relationships with key clients, consultants and government bodies (e.g. ADNOC, DEWA, SEWA).
- Provide technical support during project initiation including site visits and solution design discussions.
- Represent the company at trade shows, industry events and client briefings.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, submissions and client communications.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports, sales pipeline updates and forecasts.
- Ensure submissions comply with HSE standards and legal requirements.
Candidate Requirements
Education & Certification
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related technical field.
Experience
- 3 to 7 years of experience in prequalification, technical sales or business development.
- Experience in gas distribution, energy, oil & gas or utilities sectors.
- Familiarity with UAE tendering procedures and local authority standards (e.g., Civil Defense, ADSSC, ADDC).
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of gas distribution systems and project lifecycle.
- Excellent negotiation, communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, CRM platforms and document management tools.
- Valid UAE driving license preferred.
- Fluent in English; Arabic is an advantage.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
