Job summary

Stantec seeks a Safety Officer to manage daily health and safety operations on the project site and support the implementation of effective HSE management. The role requires knowledge of safety standards, traffic control in work zones, and relevant UAE certifications.

A UAE driving license is preferred, with excellent English communication skills. Responsibilities include maintaining records, producing safety risk reports, and supervising projects in recycled water, sewage, and pumping station

Qualifications

• Diploma in Civil Engineering or Safety with two years of field experience.
• Training: OSHA H2S awareness, Basic Fire Fighting, Preventive Medicine Department.
• Knowledge of DM and RTA safety standards.
• Experience in traffic diversions schemes at work zones.
• UAE driving license.
• Excellent verbal and written English.
• Experience in risk assessment and risk management reporting.

Responsibilities

Job description

Job Description
The Safety Officer shall carry out the day-to-day operations of the health and safety of the Project site and contribute to the application of effective Health and Safety management by providing technical support.
He must have full knowledge of all aspects of safety material. He shall be conversant with and experienced in general civil engineering construction and emergency procedures.
The Safety Officer must hold training in relevant OSHA H2S awareness, Basic Fire Fighting, Preventive Medicine Department.
Good knowledge of all safety and engineering standards mentioned in DM and RTA manuals.
Good knowledge in preparing and managing traffic diversions schemes at work zones.
Additional traffic safety certificates are advantageous.
Passing the Road Safety interview held by the prequalification committee.
Excellent verbal and writing in English communication skills.
Solid experience in maintaining relevant records and generating activity reports for the Risk Assessment and Risk Management.
Strong experience in recycled water, sewage, pumping station construction supervision projects is preferred.
Valid U.A.E. driving license.
