Job summary

A financial services firm located in the Abu Dhabi Emirate is seeking an experienced individual to maintain the Fixed Asset Register and ensure compliance with accounting standards. Responsibilities include tracking asset transactions, performing reconciliations, and facilitating audits. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to asset management while adhering to IFRS guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update the Fixed Asset Register.
• Record asset additions, disposals, transfers, and retirements in the ERP system.
• Ensure proper capitalization of assets in line with company policy and IFRS.
• Calculate and post monthly depreciation.
• Reconcile the fixed asset sub-ledger with the general ledger.
• Conduct physical verification of assets and investigate variances.
• Review CAPEX requests and ensure proper approvals.
• Track Assets Under Construction (AUC) and capitalize when ready.
• Process asset disposals including gain/loss calculations.
• Support audit requirements with schedules and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
• Prepare fixed asset reports for management.

Education

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
