Job summary

Binance is seeking a Backend Engineer on the Pay & Card team to help power crypto and fiat payment experiences for users and merchants worldwide. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build reliable, secure, and scalable payment services.

You will gain hands-on experience with high-throughput transaction systems, distributed architectures, and financial infrastructure while writing clean, well-tested code and contributing to system reliability and security.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor's or Master's in CS/SE/CE or related field.
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, OOP.
• Proficiency in Java, Go, C++, Python or similar.
• Understanding of relational databases and SQL.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and networking.
• OS, concurrency and backend engineering concepts.
• Ability to write clear, maintainable code and reason about problems.
• Strong communication and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services supporting Binance Pay and Card products.
• Build scalable APIs and microservices for payment processing, transaction management, merchant services, and related workflows.
• Participate in distributed systems handling high-volume and latency-sensitive transactions.
• Work with databases, caching systems, message queues, and other infra components to improve performance.
• Implement robust transaction workflows with retries, idempotency, concurrency and failure handling.
• Assist with troubleshooting production issues via logs, metrics, tracing, and root-cause analysis.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and participate in code reviews.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate requirements into tech solutions.
• Contribute to improvements in reliability, observability, security, and engineering practices.
