Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Dubai is looking for a Reliability Engineer to enhance the performance of sewage treatment plant assets. The role focuses on developing and implementing reliability strategies, analyzing KPIs, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Candidates should possess a BSc in Engineering and strong knowledge of reliability engineering principles. Experience with CMMS/EAM systems and proficiency in data analysis are essential for success in this role.

Job description
Purpose of the Job
  • Develop and enhance the reliability and asset performance of critical Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) assets
  • Minimize unplanned downtime, improve equipment availability, and optimize lifecycle performance
  • Support safe, compliant, and cost-effective plant operations through data-driven reliability engineering
Job Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve reliability strategies for critical STP assets
  • Monitor and analyze reliability KPIs (MTBF, MTTR, availability, failure trends)
  • Conduct FMEA, RCM studies, and lead RCA for major and recurring failures
  • Identify chronic equipment issues (bad actors) and implement improvement plans
  • Analyze CMMS/EAM data to identify trends and support decision-making
  • Develop dashboards and reports to communicate reliability performance
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support predictive maintenance techniques
  • Collaborate with Operations and Maintenance teams to optimize maintenance plans and job frequencies
  • Support commissioning, modifications, and upgrades with embedded reliability considerations
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
Key Qualifications
  • BSc in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or related discipline)
  • Strong knowledge of reliability engineering principles and methodologies (FMEA, RCM, RCA)
  • Experience working with CMMS/EAM systems and reliability KPIs
  • Strong data analysis, problem-solving, and reporting skills
  • Experience in STPs, water treatment plants, utilities, or continuous-process environments
  • Knowledge of environmental and regulatory compliance in wastewater operations
  • Exposure to digital tools, dashboards, and maintenance analytics
  • Professional certifications (CMRP, CAMA, or equivalent) are an advantage
