Our client, an established asset management and brokerage company, based in DIFC in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is looking for Senior Banking and Business Development professionals for several Relationship Manager and Senior Relationship Manager roles responsible for business development, acquisition of Private Wealth (HNW and UHNW clients), funds from family offices and other sources of wealth, and managing relationships with their clients. Several Relationship Manager and Senior Relationship Manager roles will be further referred to as "Relationship Manager" in this job description.
A Relationship Manager in our client company is a pivotal position, demanding a sophisticated blend of financial acumen, strategic foresight, and exceptional relationship-building skills. This senior-level role is instrumental in driving the growth and expansion of an asset management firm's footprint within the highly competitive and regulated DIFC ecosystem.
An ideal candidate is not just a sales-driven individual but a strategic leader. They are responsible for identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities, forging and nurturing long-term relationships with a diverse client base—including high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs), family offices, and other wealthy/VVIP investors—and ensuring strict adherence to the robust regulatory framework of the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA).
Client acquisition and relationship management with HNW and UHNW clients form the bedrock of the role. This includes proactively sourcing new clients, understanding their investment needs and risk appetite, and presenting tailored asset management solutions. The ability to cultivate and maintain strong, trust-based relationships is paramount for retaining and growing the assets under management (AUM).
Furthermore, an understanding of the DIFC's regulatory landscape is an advantage for this role. The Director must ensure that all business development activities are conducted in strict compliance with DFSA regulations. This includes overseeing client onboarding processes, ensuring proper due diligence, and maintaining accurate records.
Our client company pays very competitive salary, provides benefits and offers a very lucrative commission based on revenue to the company from transaction income, advisory fees and other sources of income from HNW/UHNW clients a Relationship Manager is able to bring.
An ideal candidate for this role should have a proven track record of success in a similar role, typically requiring a minimum of 8-10 of experience in business development in banking, financial asset management, or a related field within the financial services industry, with a significant portion of that time spent in asset or wealth management.
Essential skills and competencies for this demanding role include:
Educational qualifications generally include a bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field. A Master of Business Administration (MBA) or professional certifications such as the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) are often highly preferred.
Candidates applying for this role should be ready to develop and present a business case showcasing and highlighting their approach to business development, and how they will achieve success within the first 6 months of employment with the client company. The business case development and presentation is an essential part of the interviewing process for our client.
