Job summary

Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation is seeking an AVP, Relationship Management – Coverage in our Middle East, Turkey and Africa team, based in the ADGM office in Abu Dhabi. You will support senior bankers with pitching, analysis and administration, and lead selective client accounts to drive origination and deal execution.

The role requires strong knowledge of corporate finance theory, banking products, and documentation, with a focus on UAE clients and SWFs.

Qualifications

• Experience in relationship management for Middle East corporates.
• Understanding of banking products, credit processes and documentation.
• Knowledge of major sectors such as Oil & Gas, Utilities, Energy, TMT and Real Estate.

Responsibilities

• Originate and support multiple transactions with senior bankers.
• Prepare pitchbooks, term sheets and info memos for client engagements.
• Coordinate with credit, legal and other internal teams to execute transactions.

Role Summary

Is the next step in your career at SMBC Group EMEA We re looking for a Relationship Managment - Coverage AVP for our Middle East Turkey and Africa department baed in our ADGM office in Abu Dhabi to join our team Support and lead marketing activities origination of new business execution of transactions and providing business development support to senior bankers in delivering the team unit and department s budget and objectives The role is principally to support senior bankers both on pitching analysis and administration tasks and taking lead on selective client accounts Prepare succinct and high quality pitchbooks term sheets and info memos high quality transaction summary overviews for management whilst understanding the profitability calculations under various different scenarios Preparing relationship updates and account plans on a regular basis and supporting credit applications of live transactions Good understanding of financial documentation LMA related processes for bilateral club deals and syndicated transactions Corporate Finance Modelling is desirable Relationship management skills demonstrating a good understanding of the major SWFs Corporates in the Middle East region UAE mainly Good knowledge and understanding of key sectors such as Oil amp Gas Utilities Energy TMT Real Estate etc and sector related nuances Good knowledge and experience of banking products set Corporate credit and documentation

The role sits within SMBC BI ADGM branch Coverage Team reporting to the Head of the Team The role requires an understanding of the Middle East Corporates clients markets key sectors and SMBC product sets applicable across CIB to specific client segment for cross-sell Internally the role would interface with various other departments in EMEA Branches across the regions and other global divisions to colleagues in CIB Capital Markets and other SMFG entities Position DescriptionThe role requires good knowledge of Corporate Finance theory practice documentation and execution Main interfaces relationships are with Middle East Sovereign Wealth Funds and Government Related corporate entitiesFront Office Teams and department members up to GM levelCredit department loans admin CPD legal other departments CBD1 amp 2 GTFD SPD etc OAD DCM LCM Global markets TD etc within EMEA RegionOther EMEA and regional officesCustomers other banks and financial institutions DFIs amp ECAs lawyers accountants insurance advisors public sector up to national government levelIt would be expected that the role would work on originating and supporting multiple new transactions each year with some lead roles
