Position

The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering (CHBE) in the College of Engineering at the American University of Sharjah (AUS) invites applications for a regular faculty position or a visiting faculty position at the assistant, associate, or full professor level commencing in Fall 2026.

Qualifications
  • PhD in Chemical or Biological Engineering or a closely related field.
  • Significant teaching portfolio; preference for experience in Biological Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, or Biotechnology.
  • Excellence in teaching and research, and experience in the American model of higher education.

The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering has approximately 200 undergraduate students, 15 graduate students, 12 full‑time faculty and 3 lab instructors. Students and faculty represent diverse backgrounds and nationalities, with about 90 nationalities present on campus.

The department offers a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, a Bachelor of Science in Chemical and Biological Engineering, and a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering.
