Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (or equivalent recognized qualification).
• Minimum 3 years recent experience in a Medical-Surgical inpatient ward.
• Valid DOH Registered Nurse license.
• BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred.
• Strong patient assessment, critical thinking, and clinical judgment skills.
• Proficient in electronic medical records and clinical documentation.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced inpatient environment.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive initial and ongoing patient assessments, developing, implementing, and evaluating individualized nursing care plans in line with evidence-based medical-Surgical practice.
• Deliver direct nursing care to acute medical-Surgical inpatients, including close clinical monitoring, early recognition of patient deterioration, and timely escalation of care.
• Safely administer and manage medications and IV therapies, ensuring accurate dosage calculations and adherence to hospital policies and clinical protocols.
• Assist physicians during medical and specialized procedures, while providing post-procedure monitoring and nursing interventions.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation using electronic medical record systems to ensure continuity and quality of care.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to prioritize patient needs, coordinate treatment plans, and support efficient inpatient care delivery.
• Provide patient and family education throughout the admission and discharge process, promoting recovery, safety, and prevention of complications.
