Job summary

IHG Hotels & Resorts, Ras Al Khaimah Mina Al Arab Resort & Spa, is seeking a Receiving / Store Assistant to join our Finance team. You’ll ensure goods are received, checked, stored and issued accurately, while keeping storerooms organised and inventory controlled.

We require a Vocational Certificate in Accounting and about 2 years’ experience in purchasing or accounting, plus basic knowledge of computerized financial reporting systems, strong numerical and organisational skills, and meticulous

Responsibilities

• Maintain stock levels and accurate records of items received and issued.
• Rotate stock to minimise wastage, spoilage and deterioration.
• Safeguard inventory and report damaged, obsolete or deteriorated stock.
• Keep storerooms clean, organised and maintained to hygiene standards.
• Prepare, code and record requisitions according to the established issue schedule.

You’ll play an important role in ensuring goods are received, checked, stored and issued accurately, while keeping our storerooms organised and our inventory properly controlled.

A little taste of your day-to-day:

• Receive and verify incoming food, beverage and general store items against invoices and delivery documents
• Check deliveries for correct quantities, quality and condition before acceptance
• Issue food, beverage and other store items in line with hotel procedures
• Maintain proper stock levels and accurate records of all items received and issued
• Rotate stock correctly to minimise wastage, spoilage and deterioration
• Safeguard inventory and report any damaged, obsolete or deteriorated stock
• Keep storerooms clean, organised and maintained to required hygiene standards
• Prepare, code and record requisitions according to the established issue schedule

What We need from you:

• Vocational Certificate in Accounting or a related field
• Around 2 years of experience in purchasing, accounting or a similar function, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Basic knowledge of computerised financial reporting systems and programs
• Good numerical skills with the ability to check invoices, calculations and stock records accurately
• Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills
