Job description

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor (QS) specializing in Mechanical and E&I disciplines to join our team. The QS will be responsible for cost estimation, quantity take-offs, commercial management, and cost control activities across all project phases in an EPC environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed quantity take-offs from drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Coordinate with engineering and construction teams to validate quantities and monitor scope changes or variations.
  • Develop and assess subcontractor bills, ensuring accuracy and alignment with work progress.
  • Maintain detailed records of all site activities and support the contracts team with cost control and financial reporting.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure accurate measurement data for monthly valuations and cost forecasting.
  • Ensure all mechanical and E&I works are measured in compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Support the preparation of claims, variations, and final accounts in coordination with the contracts department.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, subcontractors, engineers, and other stakeholders to clarify scope, quantities, and cost-related issues.
  • Utilize MS Excel and relevant quantity surveying software tools for data analysis and reporting.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Any Engineering Degree, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in quantity surveying within the Oil & Gas or EPC industry, with a strong focus on mechanical and E&I works.
  • In-depth knowledge of EPC contracts, cost estimation techniques, and cost control processes.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and quantity surveying software (e.g., Candy, CostX, etc.).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with project execution in industrial zones like Ruwais is an advantage.
