Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor / Estimator in joinery or interior fit-out companies.
• UAE experience with residential, commercial or hospitality projects preferred.
• Experience in both pre‑contract (tendering) and post‑contract (cost control) stages.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and BOQs for joinery and interior fit-out works.
• Monitor project costs against approved budgets.
• Assist in material and subcontractor selection based on cost and specifications.
• Measure executed works on site in coordination with site teams.
• Coordinate with Project Managers and Site Supervisors.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor & Estimator with a strong background in joinery and interior fit-out works. The role focuses on cost estimation, quantity take-offs, BOQ preparation, tender pricing, and cost control for interior decoration and custom joinery projects.

The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with interior fit-out drawings, joinery materials, finishes, and UAE market pricing, supporting projects from tender stage through execution and final account.

Key Responsibilities

Estimation & BOQ Preparation

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and BOQs for joinery and interior fit-out works.
• Carry out accurate quantity take-offs from architectural and shop drawings.
• Review drawings, specifications, and scope of works to ensure complete pricing.
• Prepare tender submissions, cost summaries, and pricing breakdowns.
• Obtain and analyse quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.

Cost Control & Variations

• Monitor project costs against approved budgets.
• Track and evaluate variations, additional works, and change orders.
• Prepare variation pricing and cost impact assessments.
• Support project teams with cost planning and budget control.

Commercial & Procurement Support

• Assist in material and subcontractor selection based on cost and specifications.
• Prepare cost comparison sheets and support value engineering exercises.
• Review supplier and subcontractor invoices for accuracy and compliance.
• Support preparation of purchase orders related to joinery and fit-out works.

Measurement, Valuation & Reporting

• Measure executed works on site in coordination with site teams.
• Prepare progress valuations, payment applications and final accounts.
• Maintain updated cost reports and financial summaries for management.

Coordination & Documentation

• Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Supervisors, Draftsmen and Factory Teams.
• Maintain proper records of estimates, BOQs, variations and cost documentation.
• Assist in project close-out and commercial handover documentation.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of joinery and interior fit-out costing.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, interior and shop drawings.
• Good understanding of joinery materials (MDF, plywood, laminates, veneers, solid wood), interior finishes and decorative works, hardware, accessories and installation methods.
• Proficient in MS Excel and MS Office.
• Familiarity with estimation software is an advantage.

Experience

• 3–5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor / Estimator in joinery or interior fit-out companies.
• UAE experience with residential, commercial or hospitality projects preferred.
• Experience in both pre‑contract (tendering) and post‑contract (cost control) stages.
