Job description

You will be responsible for engineering and follow-up of subsea cables and umbilicals product delivery for subsea and offshore oil and gas field developments projects being part of an integrated subsea engineering team.

The role will include both tender and project execution activities for EPCI projects in the Middle East region.

For this position, we are looking for a Lead Engineer (with over 10 years of experience and experience as discipline lead) as well as a Junior Engineer.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review of ITT and client requirements, preparation of technical clarifications, identification of scope for subsea cables (power, communication) and umbilicals.
  • Development of equipment specification, datasheet, schematic, material requisition.
  • Evaluate suppliers’ technical proposal, align proposals to project requirements and prepare technical bid evaluation.
  • Supplier’s engineering follow-up post Contract Award through product design, manufacturing, testing and offshore installation.
  • Technical focal point for management of all technical communication with supplier, coordination of documents review, action tracking and closure of TQs, VORs and NCRs.
  • External interface with Client and Vendors.
  • Internal interface with engineering departments (e.g. pipeline, materials, subsea and offshore structures, electrical, telecom, piping, flow assurance, installation), supply chain, quality/HSE, and project management.
  • Preparation of cost, time, resources estimation.
  • FOR LEAD ENGINEER: Act as discipline lead if required to handle subsea cables and umbilicals packages on multiple projects with direct responsibility of resources management.
  • FOR LEAD ENGINEER: Training and mentoring of younger resources.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • FOR LEAD ENGINEER: 10+ years' relevant experience in subsea power and communication cables and umbilicals.
  • Extensive knowledge of design, manufacturing, and testing of subsea cables and umbilical aspects during various phases of an EPCI project (FEED, bid, detail engineering).
  • Knowledge of relevant codes and standards, regulations, and best practices for subsea cables and umbilicals.
  • Relevant Engineering Degree (preferably Electrical or Mechanical).

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

  • Understanding of subsea power and communication systems design principles.
  • Understanding of the engineering phases and interfaces of an EPCI project (FEED, bid, detail engineering).
  • Knowledge of relevant codes and standards, regulations, and best practices for subsea cables and/or umbilicals.
  • Relevant Engineering Degree (preferably Electrical or Mechanical).
  • FOR LEAD ENGINEER: Track record of EPCI projects execution for Middle East clients (Saudi Aramco, QP, QG, ADNOC).
  • FOR LEAD ENGINEER: Experience with subsea valves.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Working under minimum supervision, in a team as well as individually.
  • Clear and effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Curious and aware of new technologies and developments.
  • Willing to share knowledge by mentoring younger resources.

CONDITIONS

Duration: 1 year, extendable.
